Settling in

We want your child to feel happy and safe with us. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into the setting. Under normal circumstances parents are welcome into preschool at any time by appointment. We hope your child(ren) will settle easily into the group and we try to make this as comfortable as possible. There is no rush to introduce the children, we would encourage you to spend time in the setting with your child until they feel secure and familiar with the surroundings. If you prefer to leave them, we will give your child support until they feel happy and secure.

We recognise that not every child is toilet trained when they start preschool. We have regular times when all children are asked if they need to use the toilet to encourage them to use it. Children who are not toilet trained will need to bring nappies and wipes in a bag. We have facilities for changing nappies and staff will change nappies as required.

More information on daily routines, snack time and day-to-day running of the playgroup can be found here.

Key Workers

Each child is allocated a Key Person when they start at the setting. This is the person who will be the main point of contact for you and your child. They will also be responsible for compiling evidence and monitoring your child's development during their time with us. If you wish to speak with your childs keyworker, please arrange a convenient time to do this either by phoning or emailing us.
